Customs & Letters of Marque

Before you load The Atlas Scribe cargo, a brief word from the Harbor Authority.

The Atlas Scribe was built for adaptation.

In fact, some of the best uses of The Atlas Scribe are uses Atlas never originally intended.

That's not a bug, but a feature. Emergence is the entire point. However...

There is a difference between:

Productive Theft

and

Grand Theft Shipyard

One is encouraged. The other gets awkward.

Obtain Your Annual Letter of Marque

Historically, a Letter of Marque granted private citizens permission to engage in sanctioned piracy.

This harbor operates under similar principles.

A Letter of Marque from the Harbor Master grants piracy authorization to:

✅ Adapt The Atlas Scribe cargo

✅ Build with The Atlas Scribe cargo

✅ Deploy The Atlas Scribe cargo inside your organization

✅ Create training, simulations, workshops, frameworks, and tools

✅ Transport concepts across borders

✅ Make useful things &/or experiences

✅ For that calendar year of commission

A Letter of Marque does not authorize:

🚫 Repackaging The Atlas Scribe itself or its creations as your creation

🚫 Reselling The Atlas Scribe cargo without authorization

🚫 Removing attribution where required

🚫 Creating competing copies of the underlying shipyard

🚫 Feeding the Harbor Master to the sharks

(During one incident ... well, the sharks don't talk about it.)

Every Literary Pirate Commission grants five privileges:

⚓ Permission to engage in Literary Piracy.

⚓⚓ Authorization to adapt Harbor cargo into new vessels.

⚓⚓⚓ The right to return and report your findings & contribute your nauledge to the growing Knowtilus.

⚓⚓⚓⚓ The right to access the Knowtilus.

⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓ The ability to summon the Harbor Master when navigating dangerous waters or shitstorms.

Fine Print from the Harbor Master

The Harbor recognizes years, not feelings.

Your commission is valid for the calendar year in which it is issued.

Whether you arrive with favorable winds in January or wash ashore in late December after a series of questionable decisions, your commission expires when the Harbor closes its ledgers for the calendar year.

At that time, all vessels wishing to continue their adventures, experiments, smuggling operations, and acts of productive misuse must obtain a new commission.

Such is the way of bureaucracy.

Even literary piracy bureaucracy.

🚨 Distress Signal Review

Still Stuck?

The Atlas Scribe cargo is designed to help you navigate difficult waters your damn self.

Sometimes it isn't enough.

If you've already deployed The Atlas Scribe resources, played with your own adaptations of it, documented your observations, and still can't see WTF's beneath the waterline, the Harbor Authority accepts Distress Signals from commissioned Literary Pirates only.

* Submitting this form without being a Literary Pirate or without doing the work required for a review will result in the request going to Davy Jones' locker. No refunds.
